I purchased the Palm Tungsten E in January 2004 and it served me well until this weekend when it just died..
I embarked upon a frustrating and exasperating journey in attempting to get the unit repaired. The Palm warranty is for a miserable 90 days and repair would cost at least $125.
This does not inspire much confidence in their product which I paid $199 for only 5 months ago. I contrast this to the outstanding service I just received from Kodak regarding warranty repair on my digital camera. Although I was dissappointed that my lens assembly required repair, Kodak makes the process customer friendly and I will gladly continue recommending their products in the future.
It is very easy to understand how Palm stock has lost 90% of its value in the past year ($28 per share down to $2.08 per share). I liked the Tungsten E but will never buy another one of thier products in the future. If you buy a Palm invest in the extended warranty and be prepared for the worst customer service experience posdsible.
